In a previous publication, ball milling was introduced as an effective method for the preparation of supported metal catalysts, simply from coarse powders and oxide support. this follow-up study, we demonstrate that mixing multiple sources can result in alloyed nanoparticles, extending field application to synthesis bimetallic catalysts. Ball Au Pd or Cu high-energy regime (shaker mill) indeed led formation Au–Pd Au–Cu on MgO yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ), which were explored model systems. Powder X-ray diffraction electron microscopy primary means investigate as-synthesized materials.
